how well does the car drive? and what does it need to pass the emissions and the safety?

The car needs new shocks all around, hence the ride is not the best but engine and trans are fine. Overhaul of front suspension would be the best way to go - new control arms ball joints and proper alignment.
Car also needs new intake manifold rubber boot - existing is duct taped :-)
