Hey does anyone have a set in nice shape or could anyone tell me how to get alpine white paint off them. Someone who painted the car decided to be lazy and paint right over the moldings.

I don't think you'll be able to take the white paint off, but why don't you just remove them and repaint them black with some black trim paint (if you can't find a set of used black ones cheaply) I guess you'd probably want to do the door mouldings as well if you did that, so they match.

my dealer cost for new ones is just over 40.00 each. sigh..suppose I'll see what I can do with them. car is going into body shop for some work and I'll ask my buddy what he can do.

well, I used poly stripper and varsol along with steel wool and some elbow grease. it worked but came out dull- expected. Used brake clean to clean surface and trim paint to bring them back. we'll see how long it stays on. :-)
thanks for the advice. figure I can save the 100.00 for something more important.
