Put it on your to-do list*th-up*. I drove a '99 GTP for a while, it was a fun red light chaser, the weight balance is what kills the car... 60-40 before you start breaking*uzi*

Also I thought I thought mention the 9 speeding tickets are over the past 6 years or so... I have gotten tickets in 3 different Grand Prix's but no other cars :P

Its true... It's way too heavy for having GM handeling...

How much does your M5 weigh?

mine is 4400lbs with me and all my gear in it.... your car must have a lot of HP

They were very popular with the grand prix clubs about a year ago, people were selling them for $1000 a set with stock pirelli pzero nero tires and people were fighting over them... now they sell for $450 if your lucky... its hard to find a buyer now... I traded a set of used winter steelies/tires for my set which were new take offs

I was comparing spec curb weights. The GTP is around 3400lbs, the M5 is around 3900lbs.

based on the light mods the car should be making 410-415hp, it's never been dynoed though so I wouldn't know exactly.

Must have been modded pretty good because stock those GTP's ran mid to low 14's

That's a serious tire!

Can you do a wheelie? (This is a serious question)

I had 255's a while back and they were nuts

mid to low 14 GTP's would modified with a 3.4pully, exhaust, intake, tstat and a good tune... or a similar setup

stock they run 15 flat in perfect conditions for a magazine...

real life mid 15 second stock due to age, wheel spin, etc if you ran it now

haha no man.
besides the couple mods for a few extra hp the car is stock, stock bmw's don't do wheelies.

Are you interested in purchasing a bmw or do you own one? Just curious as to what brings you to Maxbimmer with a car such as that?

cheers.

Good question! I am interested in purchasing a BMW but not for some months... If I had to guess I would say 6 months...

I have a 97 GTP for the winter, my black 2000 gtp (in my avatar) for going fast/daily driver but I want to pick up a bimmer for the daily driving, looking for something with better handling and with more options then GM can handle, plus I like what I have seen in the BMW and I would like to get one and keep it completely stock, tired of trying to find that specific part that no one has for my aftermarket setup... plus too many things break in my GTP and there are a lot of aftermarket/go fast mods that I don't need to bring me to work everyday

Basically a daily driver BMW... thinking about a 5 series to pimp in my style I am still undecided but I like the E34/E39... the E60 is nice but too expensive for my budget

I am still REALLY new to BMW so I figured this would be a great place to start a new passion
