2 part question for you guys..............

Been thinking for a while about throwing some wheels on my car. Are there any distinct disadvantages to getting a staggered setup as against an equal front/rear combination.

Second question: I'm really fussy about the ride quality in my car. What would be the best suspension setup to go with, assuming I go with a 17" wheel? I've been told that the stock suspension doesn't really like 17" wheels (not to mention the resultant gap).

Suggestions much appreciated.

Well when i was buying my wheels i actually wanted staggered wheels, but didn't want to roll my fenders(not yet at least) The only disadvantages that i found was that i couldn't rotate my wheels, and that if you got a less powerful car, It's gonna take alot of the power out because more width to pull. Maybe there are others?

wide tire - better traction (tottaly opposite in snow)
wide rim - heavy rim
big rim - slower acceleration
small rim - slower top speed

I got 225 in fron and 245 rear, it's stock so it has to be best choice

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I believe the main reason BMW began putting staggered sizes on its cars was to induce more understeer, hence making them "safer" for the average driver.
