Hello guys, I'm new to the forum. I have always been a fan of BMW's ever since my dad had a 95 540i and now I wanna own a bimmer of my own!

So I chose a E30 M3, I'm planning on doing a S50 swap. I'm not too much into the tech, although I really want to learn more about it all.

Kijiji is offering this engine...

Is that a good price range for an S50? Anyone with more experience I would gladly appreciate, and the thoughts are just floating around in my mind right now, so no rush for answers.

Thx

man......by changing that motor you ruin a huge part of that cars history and its value. I understand that the s50 will bring alot more power, but I would leave the S14 in there.

^ +1 - doing an engine swap, cheaper method of getting more power does de value the M3 in enthusiast eyes.

If you do the S50 swap, you'll need more parts than just the motor. Best advice that I can give you is to call one of the sponsors who has done lots of them, unless you plan to do it yourself.

Welcome to the E30 M3 club - I hope that you understand and continue to learn about what you've just purchased.

You bought an E30 M3 to do an engine swap ? *no-no*

You should've just bought a regular E30.

btw, where did you find the E30 M3 ? Any pics ?

hey guys, thanks for the input. I haven't bought the e30 yet, still looking for one, saving money and all that jazz... like i said these are just ideas in my head and any comments towards it would help.

btw, if i were to do a s50b32 swap would i also have to switch up the tranny as well from the standard s14?

the s50b32 makes it even more complicated than swapping in the NA s52.

with all the power you're looking to get, you're going to need awd to put it all to the ground. You should buy an IX. A blue one. Then put an S50 in it

lol what are you talking about you think im going to be getting spinnage in the first few gears?

keep in mind this is going to be pro tuned, im sure the 300+ horses wont be a problem for an e30 - its not like im going to be racing it or anything just a hobby car
