You are looking at a very hard to find MINT 2002 540i Black on Black MSport
6 SPEED sedan. The interior is MINT, as is the exterior. I have owned this car for only 6 months. I am selling this because I want to get into a ’09 335 Coupe, there are no other reasons. It has just over 133,000 km (83000 Miles). This 540i is in great condition! It drives like a dream. I have only driven this car 4000km, to the train station and back! It’s very hard to find a car like this in its original pristine condition! No lights on the dash!! Clean carfax and CARPROOF.

I am asking $18,900K Neg OR take advantage of my down payment and take over my lease of $380.00 per month ($430 with tax). The remainder on the lease is 2.5 years and then buy the car outright for $9000, unlimited kilometers! I will pay the lease transfer fee.

The car is in great condition and I also have all the service records. The previous owner leased this car from BMW for six years because he loved it so much! I am the 2nd owner of the car. The car has 8 cylinders and boy does it go! The only mod I’ve done to it has been the performance exhaust to give it a mean sound, which you will fall in love with the car when you see. The cooling system was done fully quite recently! Everything in the car works great! I have looked on Autotrader and there is only another one (red) that is similar to mine. I am not in a hurry to sell the car, so please no low ballers or tire kickers. If you have any questions please call me 416-797-1961 or email me at marvenmassey@rogers.com

Hey Whip_Lash, yeah I know what you mean..it looks like a sleeper but it"s got some huge torque...the new 335's and 135's dont even have that much..I just want something newer...

Hey Rafal, sorry but I am looking for a 335..thx for asking though..good luck with your sale!

BUMP - on sale again ;-)

What's wrong with the car? you drive only 4000km and have to sell it? Have you change the ball join, control arm and radiator yet?

08-17-2009, 01:35 PM
Nothing is wrong with the car. As my ad says I drive to the train station so I drive it very little. I was not going to sell b/c I do like this car however my work situation changed. I got a job in Waterloo so I will driving everyday. It is a V8 afterall..not to mention Waterloo is in the snow belt. So I will be looking at a XI as soon as I sell this. The ball joints havent been changed b/c they are fairly new and the whole front end is tight. Same with Rad, Waterpump and the rest of the cooling system.

how much down payment did you pay?
since your original post was back in april, what's the current mileage?

08-17-2009, 03:22 PM
Current kilometers is approx 138,000.

Front bushings will die very soon fyi. Its a fact of life with a e39 540 including rad, aux fan and fan clutch. Ask MazdaRxwhat? on what died on his, with a mere 110K on the clock lol. Nice car however, and to whomever wants it, the stuff that I mentioned is not difficult to fix, or expensive. your asking price is about right too!

08-18-2009, 12:59 AM
Yes on E34 and E39 these items are almost "maintainence" items. But on this car they should not have to be done for a while yet.

Hey Marven what type of Magnaflow exhaust is that, im looking into getting one and need to know the model. Thanks.

im surprised this didn't sell yet. How many payments left till you are clear of the lease? im tempted...

10-22-2009, 11:36 AM
Still have it? Waaaay later?

Hi Miro, sorry I didnt see this post, I thought I would receive a notification..Have 24 payments left, but since I have already paid for a year and my downpayment the total cost of a take over would be just a tad over $17k includding interest.

Had someone ready to take it over but b/c he lived in QC the leasing company would not do it...*sad*

Still have it? Waaaay later?

Hi there...yes I still have it..I am "winterizing" as I write this. However I am commuting from Oakville to Waterloo so I'm thrilled about that so yes I am still open to sell it.

Give me a call or email if you are interested..

^ Dude, a 335's fuel economy isn't much better, especially if you go for the xi. Power is +- the same. The 540 has less hp but more tq. You're going to drop $40 large over this car to get snow traction in Waterloo? Buy a good set of snow tires and call it a day. Your decision for selling this car makes no sense. Anyhow, good luck with the sale.

10-23-2009, 10:53 AM
thx for your feedback Europrince...having driven to Waterloo now I've discovered I am getting actually great fuel economy - 11.6ltrs per 100km...Damn my '06 330 was getting 10 per 100 so for a V8 that's great! I think the 6th gear really helps! My plan was to go to a 328xi sedan, not a 335 ( I changed my mind)...other reasons include a newer more agressive look, iDrive, Navi and Bluetooth. However if I dont sell it I am thinking about getting a deck installed with BT and iPod. The 540 does drive great, I am even more impressed driving to Waterloo everyday! I wanted something a little more updated. Having my '06 loaded 330 from the US spoiled me I guess. The trq and power is amazing though and it put a smile on my face everyday....that's one reason I am not in a real hurry to sell it. I was offered $16k but turned it down.

I had a 540 at one point. I know all about the smile on the face factor. I've been eyeing a 335i as well (used, mind you), with the power and the tech goodies, but the prudent side of me is winning currently.

Good luck with whatever you decide.

Wow, talk about the pot calling the kettle black *wave*

What are you driving now?

10-23-2009, 11:23 AM
You're damn right about the pot comment :D We have a condo in North York and have one car. We only drive about 35km/day through the week. I'm driving an '06 Mazda 3 that my wife is leasing, and I'm very seriously looking at buying it out when the lease is up in March for $10250! I was looking at an '07 335 among other cars ('07 G35, '10 Mazda 3 GT-E, '10 VW Golf Wagon TDI (used to be called Jetta wagon)(last two as prudent alternatives LOL), new and used, in that $35k price range, but I can't get myself to part with the cash LOL. That's why I was surprised that you wanted to drop $40k extra with the aim of getting better mileage and snow traction.

10-23-2009, 11:36 AM
*th-up* yep if BMW drivers were prudent and did things according to dollar value we wouldnt be driving bimmers..the thought of plunking down $60k for a 328xi MSport makes me a little ill :( The "prudent" thing would be to drive a Honda that is much cheaper, better in the snow and has better fuel economy or buy the bimmer cash..but I just can't wait *wiggle*
have a good day!

10-23-2009, 12:56 PM
Really nice car, hopefully there's still a few of these around with lower km's in a few years when I have a place to keep it. *th-up*
