M3ti Compact

Very very rare that everyone driving same make, same series...and 3 of us all together!
I'm going up Kennedy, when I pull up to what appears to be an black E36 M3 at Huntingwood. It has M3 rims, and badge, however, it has been lowered. It is carrying 3 passengers. When the light turns green, we both start off, no intention to race. I'm in third gear, and I suddenly see him pulling away, so I floor it, without a downshift...he's still pulling...so I drop down into 2nd in attempt to keep up...not a chance with my 1.8L.
It was then I notice...hey, there is car playing tag-along...a silver e36 325is (or 328is, no badges...but had stock dual tip exhaust, so it had to be a 6-cylinder). I let him pull in front of me. We pull up at the lights at Finch. Light turns green, both the M3 and 325is start...again, with no intention to race...then boom, they start flying. I was already anticipating this, and keeping my RPM's high...but there is another red light comming up, so we didn't get too fast. This light, as expected, no one waited, the M3 and the is started right away. Suprisingly, the is was very even with the M3 (which is why I am not 100% sure it was an M3), we all shut down at 120km/h, and they had only put 3 car lengths on me, which was totally unexpected- I was expecting to be left in the dust.
Kennedy and McNiccol was when we all tried very hard. I notice the M3 flick a bit too during his 1st to 2nd shift. The 325is was still, sprisingly very even with it. Again, I was 3 car lengths behind when we shut down.
Now the question is...were YOU the M3 or the 325is driver?
2nd question...were you all full throttle or started lifting before shutting down? It's very surprisingly that my ti was at least able to not get completely dusted.
