Stock wiring works. 100%.

Just get a lower temp switch so the fan kicks in earlier.

putting in a switch to turn it on manually incase the temp switch fails is always a good idea.

Everyone's e30 has one - the A/C switch that works well, unless you actually have A/C...:D

exactly! no reson for a switch backup thats wasted time as the stock setup works perfect as e30_kid said before and i can say the same temp. switch never faild

mine was working when I got the car...but I don't use a/c prefer windows down and sunroof open...so I took the whole system outa the car, probley dropped about 60lbs of weight off the car doing this :)

why would anybody take a working ac system out off the car?
even with a engine change i always updated to a AC
but i think reson is that most ppl dont wanne pay to refill or update there ac system

and to the wheight point off view are you driving a race car ?? where you need to have the wheight down

what fan are you going with? I was planning to do this too

Ive read you'll need a slim fan, maybe 2 inches thick. 16 in diameter?

car is being built for street/track use, I have also swappd in a manual BMW 316 rack and am doing the electric fan soon, only one belt on the motor, for the altenator and water pump. Guess it comes down to what we want outa our cars, and why waste gas and performance with an a/c system if you don't use it.

oh, you think the aux fan, being a pusher, would be better than one that is directly in front of the engine?

im just using it simply because its already there and i can use 100% stock wiring to make it work
