View Full Version : My Bimmer died what should I do about it?

Well like I siad it died because I had it sitting to long and I went to ressurect it and the mechanic said it was just not worth it. It's a 85 325E in a 84 318I body. The Power steering was gone, the drive shat gone, something in the back tires was gone and the back wheel was siezing up and the gas line was rotten. It started and it sounds great but should I just scrap it or does someone want it for parts. I would sell for very cheap. I also got rims that are not official BMW rims but there are caps that fit it and they are 17" deep dish 4 bolt universals.

if you like the car fix it, not hard to find the parts to do the work, I have half of those parts you'd need in the garage. You just have to figure out if you like the car enough to put some work in it

Dont throw money away. if its done, forget it.
If you like the car, buy one in better shape.

Sorry to hear about that, that is rather epic, and don't bother to repair it, if anything, put that money that would have been used to repair, and put towards a 325i, something a lot more powerfull then the eta, plus you have more rpm fun ;);)

Back wheel seizing? probably caliper, or parking brake let go. Power steering is not a critical system, I ran power free steering for years. The worst thing would be the lines, those rear brake lines can be a pain. Driveshafts are fairly easy to get.
Ultimately it's up to you. What you could do is find another e30 that has an issue your's doesn't have, and swap the parts around.
Good luck man!

car have any sentimental value? If you can do some work yourself safely, then it'll be a good project.
Other than that, get another one in better condition, you'll be happier in the long run
