looks amazing. tonnes of older bmw race setups out there, but an e90 race car is still unheard of in Canada and rare in America. too expensive maybe. Any interior pictures?
Why 1 of 2, are they going to build a second one now?

=O, wow that looks very nice. It just needs some logos and it good for the track. How much whp do you think it puts out after mods?

That's big weight savings. Those cars should be pretty quick and handle well.

Nice work! How much of the factory wiring harness are you still using? I know there's around 100lbs+ of wiring in there from the factory that you don't need on the track to make it go.

RMPMOTORS
04-24-2009, 12:15 AM
Just enough wiring to start the car and run and lights to work....

Testing it ot at Shanonville on Sat!

Are you planning on throwing in a strut brace? If so, which one?

Let us know if she proves herself on the track.

legger

strut bars dont do much in a caged car...the cage kinda does all the work!

Testing went well, handles and brakes awsome (Thank you WP PRO brakes).

The custom DME tune worked ok, just needs some tweeking.

Now time to open up the motor and make some real HP!!

I know this is an old thread but some updates were done in the 2010 season.

Both cars competed, standalone ECU's were added.

Head work done on both cars,

M tec front bumpers with carbon fiber splitters.

Carbon fiber rear wings.

Replaced brakes with OEM BMW Performance BBK, with Hawk pads!!

Breaks worked excellent, ran 2 3hr endurance races, and the brake pedal was consitant!

Here are some updated pics!

Looking good! Mikes car fixed up yet?

Have you dynoed them? Curious what those motors put out.

Last season the standalone we had could not control vanos properly. The max HP we saw was only 225 @ the wheels :( We need the vanos to work with the cams we have in the engine.
We could not make enough hp.

We actually made more hp with the stock cams, and the standalone, because we could position them to make decent hp.

We are in the process of installing MOTEC to control both the intake and exhaust vanos.

I should have real some HP #'s soon.

We have repaired Mikes car, his waterpump failed and poured water all over the r/f wheel causing him to go off in corner 2, we installed an upgraded cooling system while in the repairing upgrading process!!

Good stuff! I really wanna see these cars come alive! The look great, and deserve to be further up the line :)

Who will do your Motec tuning for you? In our cars we have a Motec in one, and a Link G4 in the other. Supposedly the Link G4 is as capable (if not more so) than the Motec ... we'll see how it goes at the first event since otherwise the cars will be identical. It is capable of dual vanos control as well, which we are using.

We will be doing the tuning, its almost ready for the dyno!

Cool ... I'll have to bug you if our car is not behaving ;) Did you go with an M800 or M600 Motec?

M800 for both cars!

Both cars running great on the MOTEC ecu's.

Custom fitted rads, and performance electric waterpumps to keep the N52's cool!

Just saw we have some exposure in a online mag:

Check it out on:

Check out the flipbook!

Awesome! We just got the #11 car started on Friday with the new engine and Link ECU. Now time for some tuning!

Btw, have you seen the new spec fuel for ST cars???? Sunoco 98 octane ... this will not work for us (or YTR, or Lombardi, or Audette, or Fast Wheels). Please express your concerns to John and Pete if this is a problem for you as well. With your fancy new Motecs you want to get the most from the engines. With the Sunoco, you won't, that's for sure!
