i have a coolant leak on the block from where i think the coolant plug is supposed to be (roughly around cylinder 3)....however there is some sort of outlet that connects to a wire which has a male connection for a wall outlet at the other end......anyways, im trying to take it off and there is no apparent bolts or screws holding it on, but there are 2 metal nothches. help!

The thing with the cord is a block heater..
The actual block drain is a 19mm bolt between cyls 5 and 6.
Maybe a freeze plug on your block blew?

yes, it fits in place of a freeze plug in the wall of the block. it should be very difficult to remove it. is that where its leaking from? if so, you're going to need a replacement heater or a new freeze plug. and im not sure about the heater, but the freeze plugs are just pressed/hammered into place i think. removing a plug is done by some means of destroying it and peeling it out.

fixed it... theres a small screw on it that needed to be tightened.
