View Full Version : When is everyone bringing their cars out of storage?

I'm so anxious to get my car on the road, I keep looking at the long term weather forecast.

I'd like to wait for a good rain to wash all the shit off the roads. Do you think it will snow again?

When is everyone planning on getting their rides out?

Mine's been out all winter. Gonna throw the rims on within 2 weeks.

I have to install my angel eyes, and then probably pull it out around the end of April! I just want the city trucks to sweep all the bullshit off the roads, and fill up the pot holes. Then we're talking business!

Hard to say - it's looking like an early Spring, but i still say something bad will happen before the end of the month. Doesn't hurt to start charging the batteries and air pressures before hand.

Sold my beater earlier than I thought so I had to take mine out.
I was just happy I had no issues starting her up. A little bit of rough idle in the beginning...probably because she was burning off the fogging oil. But after that she was good to go.

Mine is still under a cover... I'll probably get working on it early April, get new tires on it, do a few little things... and probably do a little driving here and there, but I won't use it daily until they sweep the roads.

I'm getting really anxious, though.....

Tell me about it. I've been anticipating getting it out of the garage for a spring makeover for the longest time now. I think it'll still be another month before we have steady spring weather.

I put summer rims on last weekend :) I don't need to drive it daily though so if it's wet, salty or snowy I just won't take it out...

May - but even then I think I'll just start it up, clean it, etc because I'm not going to drive it much this summer until I can do some work to it...

My cabrio has been in storage for 4 months of winter. I did a full inspection II before and it is in an indoor garage (not temp controlled). I have a battery charger keeping the battery healthy.

What else do I need before doing the first crank? Is adding engine treatment and fuel stabilizer a good idea?

Thanks.

It's a little late for fuel stabilizer, it should be added before storing the car. Personally all I do before the first crank check the fluid levels and tire pressures, that's it.

Thanks. What about engine oil? Do I have to worry about some parts of the engine are at bare metals because the engine oil has settled to the bottom after 4 months of not running?

Thanks again.

^^It's the fact that they loaded the roads up with salt yet again...Regardless, my car is coming out tomorrow. I'll just keep it clean.

Yeah I uncovered my car about 2 weeks ago and took it for a spin.... man did I miss that thing.

The snow from the last two days has kind of sucked.... but big deal. The car is staying in the driveway, who cares if it gets snowed on? It's just really cold water. The salt on the roads is what causes rust, and there really isn't any right now. The car will be driven again as soon as it melts off the road (probably tomorrow)... and I get the plate renewed (probably today :))

I didnt see any salt trucks on the road. I even heard in the news that they aren't salting any roads for that light sprinkle (in the GTA). Oh well, I really hope its the last of it! They're calling for warm weather on Thursday going forward!!!

I was out all day on my bike Sunday, but itll be 2 weeks or more before our roads are clear again And its STILL snowing :(

I sold my winter car yesterday, and I cant bring myself to drive the bimmer in all this sand :puke: Looks like my 92 ranger is getting insured for a while.

In K-W there were salt trucks out as there was freezing rain/ice.
