The threads that my atv's transmission fluid release bolt screws into is stripped and needs to be retapped (one size up from 17mm).

Anyone know where i could get this done around the burlington/oakville/hamilton/mississauga area?

if its just a casing that bolts on the side of the transmission id take it off and re tap it myself if thats not the case it would be a little bit harder to tap and not get shavings in your tranny.

Do it your self it's cheap and works. WHat you need is HeliCoil and is available at most automotive stores.

retap it urself then put a magnetic drain plug incase there were any stray shavings it'll pic it up, along with any other metallic junk in ur oil pan.

side note: anyone handy with ATV's mechanics around here?

well since the part of the tranny is pretty much garunteed to be cast aluminum that is non megnetic that might not work.. but for other shavings yea thats sweet.

partsource sells them i think. it look somthing like this |---------0
the | goes - then into the oil pan and its goes back like this | in the oil pan lol so it doesnt come out and the 0 part is like a drainplug it got a gasket on it and it just tightens up.
