In just under 30 days we will get our first chance to see what performance modifications BMW’s M engineers have applied to the X5 and X6 SUVs and finally determine whether these two behemoths are worthy of wearing the storied M badge.
The microsite, contains plenty of information about the upcoming vehicles, including images of actual prototypes and a couple of videos from behind the wheel. The X5 M and X6 M models are expected to feature an uprated version of BMW’s twin-turbocharged 4.4L V8 engine. According to previous reports, output could be as high as 507hp (373kW) and 516lb-ft (700Nm) of torque – enough for 0-60mph times of less than five seconds and more than enough to reach the company’s usual 155mph electronically governed top speed.
