Would it be worth while to do a 5-bolt conversion on an E30?

I find there are more than enough choices to choose from in a 4 bolt pattern, especially since alot of japanese cars are all 4bolt. I would say that you can probably find some nice rims that will fit 4bolt and save your $1000 for something more usefull. 5 bolt wont make you go any faster will it? =)

No. Maybe stop faster with M3 brakes. I know there are alot of E30 (Non-M3) brake kits. I have to research this alot still.

Big brake upgrade would be cool
i might do an e46 rotor upgrade

i just had my rear brakes replaced in the summer and it cost me $580 (ouch!), but if you can do a whole conversion for $1000 that's pretty good i think.

I wish I could up grade to M3 for $1000. Just the conversion to 5-bolt straight up is $1000.

You have nice rims already.. they look good with the silver!

Build up your engine.. I've heard storys about putting an "is" head on the "e" block and getting torque gains, high HP and revibility.

not sure if you've researched this let me know if you have

My car has the 2.7L "super eta" w/ the "i" head. It has low end torque but not the high end horse power (130 HP and 170 LBS./FT.).

I know your bore is 81 your stroke is 84 I think! and the "i" motor is 84 over 71 something like that. And naturaly the shorter stroke is what helps the "i/is" motor to rev higher. Have you heard of Stroker 2.7's? Korman has them (www.kormanfastbmw.com) i think they are "e" blocks with heavy duty parts so they can safely rev higher.

The olny thing stopping you from getting that 168 hp is you can't rev up to 6,500 rpm.

Just an idea Dude I could be all wrong? I didn't go under the hood much when I had my 90 325i. All I did was drop in a dinan chip that worked very good by the way!

...that the 2.7L is a waste of time and money. The most you can get is 220-225hp. He did everything including nitrous.

225 hp would be good in my opinion.. exspecially in a 2,800 lb car with a 4.10 gear. you would fly

you can get 225 w/out nitrous a bunch of track guys in the us are putting out numbers like that

with the 4 bolt u can get lots of rice rims but you cant get any ///M rims to fit which pisses me off
