Which engine best for boost??

I'm in the very early stages of planning my next turbo build-up. At this stage, everything is up for discussion, but I am thinking of a twin turbo set-up perhaps using the Mitsubishi TDO4L from the WRX or something slihtly smaller.

What I am wondering is which inline 6 is best suited for boost?? At this point, I am considering the M20, M50 and M52.

-Do people find that the 24 valve head of the M50 and M52 make them a better choice than the M20??
-Is VANOS something to consider between the M50 and the M52. Can I control it if I'm using a megasquirt??
-Anything else to consider at this point for a build like this??

i don't know much about the m50 or m52 motors but i know the m30 is better than the m20 for turbos because the block is much stronger.

What are your goals for the build? Power level? Vehicle purpose? etc.

What car do you have & what engine is already in it?

To answer one of your questions. Yes, you can control single vanos (m50, m52 style vanos) with megasquirt.

If everything is up for discussion, I'd say get an LS1 and boost that. : )

any of the above can make power. i'd use whatever is most convenient.

m50 would probably be most efficient (4valve/cyl) but m20 is cheap if you blow it up.

and dont do a twin, use a proper size single and you'll be happy.
