You'd have to be a total imbecile to pay CDN$40,000 for it, when you can pick one up in Germany for less than 17,000 Euros (or about CDN$27,000).

There are about 77 Z1's for sale in Germany alone according to www.mobile.de.
They're all older than 15 years which means they can be imported into Canada without hassle.

yeah that question was totally hypothetical, I haven't got $40k to spend on a barbie car, but a cool one nevertherless.

170hp is more than adeqaute for that car.
It's not a race car!
And in Ontario, it's pointless to have anything that can go faster than 100km/h, unless you're tracking it.
Besides, you'll fall out driving it fast while the doors are down.

:huh?:

I can go 149km/h before they will take my car away.

^^dont know about you, but i dont ever want to have to pay that much for a speeding ticket.... no matter how much money i have.

i got stopped doing 144 in and 80 about 3 months before the new law came into affect in 2007. it would have cost me $240 or 340 if the whole thing wasnt discarded.

I like having a reasonably powerful car anyway though - not because I like to go flat-out at top speed (I just set the cruise at 120 on the highway), but because:

a) I like accelerating
b) I like to be able to pass someone quickly (safely) on a two-lane road
c) I like accelerating.

Someone should drop an s50/52 into it. Then you'd have a... 'rocket'

such a waste of money, the engine isn't even that sweet. If I had to buy a vintage early 90's car, i'd be an Acura NSX. At least that car looks sweet and is an awesome car to track

For me, a vintage reliable BMW would be a nice clean 2002 with some mods. They still look sweet to today and are practical as a daily driver.

umm, no. I've gotten some tickets for 40+ over, and the lowest they've ever been is 386$.

Waste of money. If anything goes wrong with it, you will be parking it for a long time. I'm sure shipping parts from Germany would get expensive.
