I was just wondering if there is a way to get rid of valve ticking without rebuilding the head.

With the e30 lifter design you will never eliminate the tick, but adjust the valves may help.

dump that m20 and put a m50 in there and you have no valve ticking anymore

M50? go big or go home! LS1;) jks Honest truth I miss hearing that valve tick. I went with Racing Trends today to check out an e30 that's for sale on kijiji, and when the guy started it, hearing those valves tick almost brought a tear to my eye!!!

it's not only the valves the injecters make noise to

rev-limiter till you hear a big bang... that should stop the valve tick :) jk
iv read of some people saying that after adjusting the valves it got louder. its just the way these engines are made.
