View Full Version : Driveshaft rebuilding?

Pretty sure that my driveshaft is just about ready to pack it in. I get a nasty vibration at over 100km/hr.

I know that the u-joints are not serviceable, but I have heard that there are shops out there that can remove the old ones, and replace with greaseable new ones. Anyone know of one of these shops and approx. cost associated with rebuilding? (Hopefully not worth more than my whole car)

Thanks,
Adam

Where did you get yours done? Or did you do it yourself, in which case, how did you rebalance it?

PS - Thanks for the offer richie, but I have a 325i (88), so it's no good to me.

I have a place where i get mine done. But its all the way in the city. Look up Cardanic Drive-line in the yellow pages. They change U-joints and can re-balance. Id suggest also doing your CSB and make it fresh.

Probably gonna postpone until spring, as I don't have to drive much in the next few months, and its too damn cold to be working outside. Thanks for the suggestions guys, I will look into those places when the time comes.
