P0173 Fuel trim 2 on my 98 528i, searched around on the internet couldn't find any cases with just one code showing.

its the only code that show on the CEL, i tried to reset the code it came back after 10 mins of driving.

Engine runs fine, no hard starts rough idle. passed Ontario e-test with the light on.

anyone know anything about this? i've read a couple of articles about this but everyone had rough idle and vacum leaks, followed by other codes. Im just getting the one p0173 fuel trim bank 2

i found some more info..

PO173 is fuel trim malfunction for bank 2 (cylinders 4 to 6).
Depending on the adaptation values (AKA, long term fuel trim or short term fuel trim)

You should get an OBD-2 scanner and see what the fuel trim is.
A large fuel trim (>10) indicates fuel is being added to fix a lean condition
A small fuel trim (<-10) indicates fuel is being removed to fix a rich condition.

Did you mean your fuel trim is -25?
If your O2 is reading rich, the fuel trim would be negative, as it is removing fuel from the baseline.
