What kind of headlight do I need for replacement? Can anyone provide DIY steps?

before you get flamed to no end you might want to provide more detail. unfortunately we are not mind readers, so unless you tell us what your car is and what happend to cause the ligt going out...we cant really help

Steps:

Headlight out
Headlight in
Turn on light to check
Done.

could be your bulb, ballast, wiring harness....

Sorry, I was in a rush.

It's an E46 323i; everything was working normally, turned car off, went in to store to grab a pita, got back in car, turn car on, right-side headlight does not work.

i would tell you how to do it right now
but i have an e36
kinda simple though
pop ur trunk
get the toolkit out and use the wrench to get the headlight unit off and then just get the light off by turning it i think
and just change out the bulb
bulb u can get from crappy tire
should take u like 5-10 mins
repost if you need any help
will check out a friends e46 and let u kno for sure tommorow

So no one can tell me what kind of bulb I need? Internet searches have done nothing.

if you have HID's you need a D2S bulb (unless the ballast is out)

If you do not, pre-facelift e46 coupes use H7 bulbs. (canadian tire)

Thanks. Tried that with the first link but it still would not work. Works now though.
