I decided to go a different route. Recently purchased these a few months ago from a fellow Max member.

For sale is a set of 4 BBS Style 5 (2 piece) Light Weight BBS rims for e36 offset. These are no longer available for purchase from the dealer, and were an option on the European 328 IS coupe. They were not available in North America (PN 36 111 182 465)

The wheels are et41 offset, have been refinished with a polished lip (mirror polish) and centers are painted Nogaro silver including the caps. BBS center caps are also included.

Wheels are straight and true and include KDW2 tires that have one season 70-80% thread remaining. There is no curb-rash on any of the wheels.

$1800

To give you a better idea of the color, here is a picture of the same wheel but the common 5 series offset also refinished in the same way (from EuroMCars.com):

I bought these from a contact in Germany and had them refinished over there. Turnaround time was 6 months. Had a tough time moving on, but 18" of the same wheel style will do that.

Good luck with the sale Tom.

No offence, but isn't the price a little high? I've been looking for a second set of wheels (Style 5's, Borbet Type A's, Ac Shinitzer Type 1 3pc, Oz Mito's...) And Have noticed Style 5's are becoming a very popular rim for the e36. The most ive seen 17" style 5's going for was 1100, with gold plated bolts, red/gold bbs center caps. hmm just my thoughts not trying to bring down your rims as they are gorgeous!

Not sure if anyone shares my point of view, Hope OP just takes this as me being curious and not a low balling pest.

None taken... these aren't your every day 5-series style 5's that you see and can find a dime-a-dozen of.

They are original e36 fitment style 5's exclusively available in Europe only. We're not talking about just looks here with 205s stretched to high-hell and poor handling. We're talking about a proper offset wheel that looks sharp and fits properly as intended from the factory. Above and beyond that, these have been refinished gorgeously and include high performance tires in almost new condition.

If you break it down, it will cost you around 8-900 for a set of these wheels, around 200 each to refinish and around 900 for tires. That's over $2,500. And that's not mentioning to have them shipped, duties, taxes, and other headaches you'd have to go through to get them from Europe.

Everything Tom says is 100% true. The common 17x8 ET20 Style 5s were easily produced in 1000x the quantity that these were. Besides rarity, what these bring to the E36 chassis is the capability of wearing 235/40/17 tires without even rolling the fenders. With the E39 version of the wheel, even with a 215/40/17 you will need to work on the rear quarters. Plus, these are hubcentric to the E36 chassis (no rings needed, unlike the E39 wheel).

I was the one who had these sourced in Germany, refinished there, and shipped here. The whole process took 6 months, and the costs are not far off what Tom projected. I also had to import the BFG KDW2 tires ($$$$) as that size was not available through their Canadian distribution. He purchased the wheels and tires from me, and if they are in the same condition as when they traded hands, are immaculate.

Good luck with the sale, again.

thanks for the clarification guys! I wasn't aware of the difference's in style 5's. I was under the assumption that they came in 2 sizes with the same offset (17"/18")

Good luck on the sale!

Thanks Jay; Appreciate the words of support.

Like Jay said, these wheels and tires are in immaculate condition. I'm sure that whoever buys these will be very satisfied.

I love these wheels and would keep them but they don't fit over the BBK kit I have.
