do I still get the heated handle feature even if I don't have one right now??

Is it plug and play??

The heated feature is on the steering wheel so you will get it even if you don't have it right now. It should be plug and play, as long as you have the tool the reset the airbag.

Thanks.

Just unplug the battery and let the car sit 10 mins or so before you remove the airbag/steering wheel assembly and don't hook it up until the new one is on - shouldn't need to reset the light! *th-up*

Thanks. So do you need to disconnect the battery at all in the whole process?

yes, if you connect it with the airbag off it will trip the light. If you leave it disconnected until all is done, you're golden. I swapped the slip ring on my e36 a few years ago and didn't need to get it reset.
