Oh c'mon its only 4k at 100km/h lol. I have one and cruise the highway regularly. I get prime fuel mileage on country highways. Just city you have to drive it easy or watch your mileage go down the drain. Its totally worth the higher revs when you can change the way the car picks up so drastically which such a simple change of a diff...only takes an hour to swap one out if your taking your time or its your first time.

I wouldnt say so...On my first E30 i went from a 2.93 to a 3.91...Best mod i ever did, for the $$$ you cant beat it! It made the car SO much quicker off the line, and i still had the same top end speed (190Km/h...it was a 2.7 ETA!)

This is steeper gearing giving you quicker acceleration but will rev higher than a 3.38 at the same speeds.

Its just higher ratio...The bigger the #, the higher it revs at the same speed, so you get quick off the line, but loose some top end speed. Its called the "poor man's supercharger" as it lets you take off faster...and since we cant cruise at 200Km/h like in europe, its not much of a sacrifice.

Well I'll sleep on it. I do need an LSD. Any idea what it's going to limit my top speed to?

If it's a simple matter of ratios, then 3.91 is 24% or 1.24* your stock 3.15 (assuming a manual e36 with stock diff). So your new top speed would be your old top speed, 240? / 1.24 = ~190km/h

It would also mean you have 124% the amount of wheel torque
