radio problem..help!

A while ago my radio would randomly cut and there would be no sound until id smack the radio farely hard .....one day i took the radio out to see if there were any loose wires or anything like that. the wires all looked fine so i put the radio back in, turned it on and it stopped working! the deck (OEM e30 deck) still illuminates but i have no sound at all. suggestions?

Everything functions except sound?

I'm not sure about e30's but other BMW cars had a hot wire going to the amp/X-over. If there is no sound and your car does indeed use a stock amplifier, check that out.

If you're still having the flickering problem, check the ground connection.
