View Full Version : My BBQ + my E34 + your help?

She's alive again but not finished. I need some help,
interior still needs to be finished, gauges need to be cleaned up. Suspension needs to be adjusted.
It's all close but not quite yet finished.

I was thinking next sat I have a little BBQ @ my house (parents house)
I buy the meat + beer and we all finish it off together so she'll be ready for the fall cruise.

This is all dependant on the weather obviously.

So who's interested?

anybody know the weather for this saturday

ecuconnection
09-10-2008, 08:41 PM
this should be still a go with rain ... If you have a big tarp and we grap some 8 foot 2x4s
use them like legs and attach the tarp at 4 corners + light rope, pegs and we cut two of the legs at 7 feet to allow water to run off ... Im in rain or shine it's been too long to give up over some water :)

Lee in Ottawa
09-10-2008, 09:14 PM
i do have a tent that can cover the car and i'll tarp that and make it bigger.
I'm down for doing it in the rain but don't think everyone shares your excitement

09-12-2008, 03:38 PM
hey guys,

Doesn't really matter what time you show, i'm just glad ur comin.
We can definately turn it into a lunch dinner thing. I'm gonna go tonight and stock up on food and i have 4 24's of coors light sitting in the basement.
I may go to the beer king tonight so any requests for different beer?

Also I have a big socket set, (one of those 250-300 piece sets) I also have a electric impact, plus a bunch of other stuff. Shouldnt need anything.

Heres a list of stuff that i need to finish.

Interior is a mess first of all, no seats, part of lower dash in shambles. I need to rig up the a/f and boost gauge i have and put it backtogether.
boost and a/f will be temporay because i have to make a pod for them that will fit in front of the shifter.

Also whole front end needs to be put back on ie bumper, lights etc.

I need to change the wheels over to my 16" borbets because my m par tires are shot and i don't have new tires yet (hopefully have next week)

And run wire and a switch for my pump for the intercooler. (what should I buy for that?? wire and on off switch, can i do something cool and use a factory swithch. I'm assuming u guys r smater than me when it comes to electrical.

stereo needs to be put back in, not 100% but would be nice,

and then i need to log some hours in her so she'll be ready for bav

Lee in Ottawa

ecuconnection
09-12-2008, 03:48 PM
10am sounds good and I will bring my air impact wrench also if you don't have one

Count Patterson out ... he is no longer coming due to some bitch shit/working on his house lol
So less food needed accept I eat alot!! haha

Depends how you want to run it, do you want it to be running all the time while the car is on? because then you could just run it to a switched ignition source. But if you want to be able to turn it on or off, then yeah, just get a switch, wiring, and most importantly a fuse. You'll want to size the fuse and wiring according to the amperage draw of the pump though. Do you know what it draws, current wise?

Vid of it under boost? Otherwise, I don't believe it.

Funny thing is they only took video's of it running like sh*t.
Once running all mint they didn't (15 PSI of boost), geuss they were too in shock to think about a vid.

It's official, this Lee guy who kept claiming a turbo'd 5ver the past 2 yrs...really has one!

Lee's planning another BBQ+Beer for this next weekend to get all the stuff we didn't do done.

Yeah, that was a good time. I'm in for next weekend too, I want this car to be ready for bav!

Bear, the "rich" smell you are talking about was probably just the crank case ventilation since it's vented to atmosphere. it's a very distinctive smell.

Wicked to see that thing running finally. Especially on boost and running properly! As soon as we got those pipes clamped up properly and got that stock regulator back on, it ran like a brand new car. But we really did drop the ball on the video of it running right. :D

Lee if you need some help during the week, I'm in too, anytime after 5:00

Happy the car is running Lee, suspected it was a vacuum leak as I told you at the beginning.

Please install the WB o2 ASAP. When my MS is finished I will let you know. I will install it on the m20 NA before FI. I want to tune it and play with it before winter.
It's the same as the one for the m30, so when I am done I can help you to tune yours.

I may work on the car tomorrow but I also have to help the rents clean around the house so that we can make this complaint go away. I'f you in the neighbor hood give me a call and see if i'm home..

I moved the pump to the bumper and fixed the bumper brackets. I tried to mount the fan but it was a no go, I need a 2" fan. Which I will order tonight on ebay.

I still need tires but i'm a cheap ass/broke and am trying to get 4 18's for under $500.
Might have to ebay em it looks like. found 4 nexen's new for $410 shipped to ogdensburg.

Go with TireRack.. see how much that is.. other then that no clue.. For your Tires, get someone with Quebec plates and address to bring them back across.. 5% instead of 13.5%
