Welcome to the club. Tourings are the shizzle... I plan on going for one more this fall before the feds spoil the fun.

I am planning an e30 touring meet this spring.

it's an 88 325i

needs a few things right now:

Cons:
- emerg brake doesnt' work
- pulls to the left
- headliner is disgustingly dirty
- front driver fender and door have slight ding
- no radio so wiring needs to be cleaned up
- needs new tires soon

Pros:
- rims are near mint with no rash
- body isn't bad (1 dime sized rust buble)
- runs strong
- drives smooth
- near new exhaust
- new rad
- paints good

So after sorting these things out safetied and e-tested it will of cost me approx. $9k. give or take.

Which seems good too me in doing my research considering the mods, etc.

Any recommendations that I should do from the touring guys??

And is this ever one sexy looking car!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

9k is awesome,
my headliner is shit too, big coffee stain (that's what i tell myself)
I had a shitload of rust underneath, loonie sized hole left of the clutch, yes, you can see the ground when you pull back the carpet.
And passenger rear wheel well you can see into the trunk. bout the length of my forearm that one.
the cv joints went on it the first week I bought it.
But I have a touring I have a touring I have a touring

reccomendations?
it looks pretty low already but if not then slam it and turn it into a convertible.

mine looks like a beige and grey/black dirty zebra!! lol. I'm gonna pop it out and dye it black, as it's disgusting.

it needs a really good cleaning. Looked under the car briefly yesterday and there is a little rust here and there, but no flake or holes. I figure rather than spent too much time on it, I'll clean up with a wire wheel the spots and por15 it.

convertible! lol. or pickup car (longbox) It's about 3.25" off the ground now. I had to get the seller to put wood blocks in the front springs to get it above 4" for shipping.

I'm thinking I might get the middle of the seats re-done in an orange suede or something, as I'm not sure about the beige.

The rumour is that they will move the 15 year rule back to 25 years so that means cars imported that are 24 years and newer will be subject to the same rules as brand new imports.

It may happen this year or next. I am going to Germany next year and will ship back two or three e30s and the suitcase full of M- Tech 2 steering wheels.

Pick up my wheels tonight with the new tires and dropping them off at the shop where it's getting safetied. Should hopefully have it thursday this week!!

A few things I have to do myself (any ideas??):

- horn not working --> aftermarket steering wheel so I'm suspecting it was just never hooked up
- blower not working --> from what the mechanic told me, but I'll do some investigating as the seller said he never had a problem with it. So hoping it's just a wire that came out or so on.

Found out the parking brake was missing most of its internals so after placing an order with my local BMW dealer and dropping the parts off at the mechanic things are rolling again. *th-up*

I can't wait!!

ya that's it. Will have about $2500 worth of work invested ontop of cost+shipping by the time it's safetied and e-tested but still ends up being a good buy in my book.

Picked up my wheels with the new tires mounted yesterday. It's getting there. *rockout*

Took me a week to finaly get it plated in Ontario. Thanks to BMW Canada for sending me a signed letter ASAP identifying the car. It was like every time I went to the License Bureau they wanted something else.

I'm going for an e-test Saturday morning also, so hope all goes well.

The car was at the tire shop the last few days for an alignment that never got done as it's to low. I have to remove the front valance then take it back, but meanwhile found out two bolts on each front wheel were too short and stretched the threads resulting in horrid steering wheel shake. They re-threaded all the holes and ordered the proper bolts. So that's sorted.

I had studs put in the rear for ease of use when I'm working on the car at home.

Can't wait for my two post lift to come and then I'll be changing the muffler and tidying up the underside of the car.
