1. How often should I change my oil? Will I get a warning on my dashboard?
2. Sometimes I got that annoying sound from my fron brakes and sometimes it disappears. Am I going to get a warning sign on my dash board that my brake pads worn out, or bmw uses those cheap "noise pins"?

Well sinec you have an E36...
this applies to any cars, but it's recommended that you have it changed at least every 5000km's? depending on how hard you drive it.
And I don't think there's an indicator that will say "ding ding, time for oil change". More like the service indicator lights will show yellow or red which means you have to take it in for routine service maintenance.
What kind of annoying sound is it? squeeking, rough rubbing noises, etc?
I change my oil every 5000km. Usually they say btwn 5000-7500km or I think every 6 months (correct me if I'm wrong). Yeah, there won't be a warning other than your service indicator.
As for the brakes, there is a warning indicator for that but the sound you're hearing may be from 'glazing'. 'Glazing' is caused by not slamming on your brakes all the time so once in a while when no one is behind you just press your brakes a little bit harder.

so if I use syntetic oil I still have to change it every 5k?
