i have a 2.5" exhaust on my bmw. was wondering, i bought a new stainless tip but it is 2" and i will need to use a reducer to fit it. will the smaller tip create any problems, exhaust disturbance, backpressure etc? I know most people go larger, i just liked the look of this tip.
thanks guys.

I bought it at canadian tire, three screws to secure it to the muffler. no welding.

Not only does it look like crap but it will rust within months. My buddy put it on his car and i t was such a PITA to take it off (vicegrips and lots of anger)

its not that bad, i suggest just taking them off during the winter months, keep em clean during the summer. in my opinion just get a set of proper tips, no fuss no worry.

i have a magnaflow muffler, i will then put the ruducer on, and bolt the tip onto that. Does this sound right? whats the big difference between the bolt on and the weld on? nobody will ever see the bolts so it cant be looks. I was also wondering about the rust issue, did the tip rust or the outlet of the muffler? i dont think the magnaflow will rust, i am pretty sure it is stainless.
thanks guys!

there will be no sound/performance/anything changes

it rust where the bolts were themselves, the under part of the tips rusted. its really really poor quality steel they used for them. buy them from bmw, not that expensive
