Monroe's are a tad soft for the sport springs. Speak to Mpower1226, he actually had this setup for a while on his E36

Bilstein or Koni's are popular choices

They are not designed for lowering springs.

it was actually perfect for daily driving. Not too soft, Not harsh, just about right.

E36 Bilstein Sports are not a good choice for any lowering spring.

Yes, 100 people with argue against me here. But it's true. The build quality is unmatched by any of the other OTS brands, but the travel and dampening curves are not very impressive. If you use them, get ready for an unnecessarily harsh ride.

Konis aren't perfect, but are a better choice. I've heard of E36 M3 guys using the Monroes with stock springs and saying they're much closer to the stock dampers than Bilsteins (which is a good thing). But I'm not sure they're suited to shorter/stiffer coils.

Or just do it properly and get coilovers. Those of us who have won't go back.

so I am not the only one, I used bilstein with H&R and then went to Monroe with H&R.

I thought I was the crazy one thinking that Monroe actually provided better ride in daily driving as well as track lapping.
