So i have a question about my headliner, if you have been following my build thread you know im doing my headliner and such in black suede. I just wanted to know if i should remover the thin layer of foam under the odl fabric i took off. I'm afraid if i put the new suede on the foam with is already pealing a bit the headliner wont stick. I'm onli looking for people who know what they are doing or that have done this before to answer, due to the fact that suede isn't cheap and im not made of money. thanks alot :)

I'm not sure that a glue gun is the answer. I think they may have specialized adhesives for this application.

I would leave it in, myself. On the other hand, I haven't performed this sort of interior work so I don't know if that's ideal but I would presume it would be.

I am in the middle of doing the same things, and you have to take it off. scrape or sand it off.

take it off........... if it isn't perfect after removing the old headliner, then it will show on your new work. You can always apply new foam if you REALLY want it to be *cushy*, but I wouldn't bother.
