i got a 99 M3 cant deside between the VF-engineering kit or the
Active Auto kit both the same price. which has better power gains? who makes the better kit? any one have one of these? was also thinking about Actives twinscrew super. If you know about a better kit please post.

I'd go with AA C38 kit, it has more potential.

^^ agreeed
i have vf, and while stage 1 has good numbers vs other kits, and it is reliable,
upgrading potential while possible, is a pain in the ass

Twin screw and C38 kit is a big difference in feel, it depends what your more into. The C38 kit has to "spool" as it builds power as you go higher in the power band. Personally I'd go with the C38 kit...I've been in both C38 and eurosport twinscrew kit (which is a little different than AA's).

Greekthang is running the C38 kit on his OBD1 3.2 E36.

Ultimately, I'd go with a turbo set up...it will cost a little bit more than going AA stage 2 but well worth it IMO.

Forget either of those and do it right with a turbo.

I'm actually considering the AA C38 kit as well for my 328, a turbo would definately be nice, but the $4400 pricetag of the C38 is even nicer.

Yeah you can’t go wrong with power like that for the price and upgradeable. Still working out small issues with mine but 1 problem was solved with Bimmersport (mike) on the speed signal issue. I was missing a wire that the DME was looking for in order to allow my car to get out of limp mode and now I am able to go all the was to 6880 where my tune is instead of 6200 where I was cut off at. Man it pulls like a raped ape up top so with headers that I plan on doing plus new exhaust (all AA) I am hoping to see around the 340 rwhp or so. Currently I am at 318 with my full OBD1 conversion and this is all stage 1 !!! We have determined I am lucky motor wise it’s very strong. When I do stage 2one day I should be well into the 400 rwhp mark. Yummy !!!
