Hello everyone, new member here and I am about to join the BMW world, in the next couple of days I will be purchasing a 328i coupe, BMW is now offering a $3000 dollar rebate for cash purchases. Does anyone know what the dealer markup is on these vehicles ? One of the dealers I went to totalled up the car with the options and the rebate and it came out to $58 300 with everything included (taxes pdi etc) He then asked me how much I wanted to pay !! What do you think I should offer ??

Thanks

$3000 is equivalent of freight / pdi/ admin tax so not much of a rebate

$3k off 58k is about 5% discount.

Offer 50k and see his reaction

wow 5% is pretty good already.. but since their sales are down so much I guess you can push up to $53k I guess..

Thanks guys ! We'll see what happens ! One option that I'm getting is the navigation/ i-drive, haven't played too much with this system, what are your opinions on the navigation/i drive system ?

i drove an 08 328i for 2 days as a loaner and boy, what a nice ride. The sport mode was very enjoyable. Hope you get a good price!

You should probably take on another 1,500 for tire insurance and the ming shine (if they offer it there). I think you'll get about $4k off including the $3k for cash? Let me know what your final discount is.

Ok guy's, I signed the papers yesterday !! Now I have to wait until mid-late June to get the car ! There were no dealers in Canada that had a 328i with auto and idrive/navigation package so that's why the long wait ! I decided not to get the premiom package which was included in the $58 300 price. The final price ended up being $54 500 dollars, that's for a 328i with auto, sunroof, navigation package and park distance control and all the dealer charges and gst and pst.

Was thinking about getting the 335i but it was quite a bit more and I know this is going to sound crazy but the fuel economy was a little bit more and with these crazy gas prices I decided to go with the 328i.

BTW if anyone is thinking of getting a 335i the rebate that BMW is giving is $4000, compared to the $3000 for the 328i. This rebate only applies to cash purchases.

MING is snake oil. You can't reflow modern paint.

Congratulations on the purchase! You'll have to bring her out to the whichever summer cruises we have. What's in the premium package anyways?

the premium package comes with the sunroof, power seats, power folding mirrors (really cool !!), bluetooth, and bmw assist for one year. The package is $3950. The only option that I really wanted was the sunroof, so I got that seperately for $1500. The power seats are not available unless you get the premium package.

If I were you I would take sports package too

The sports package was $2000 dollars which includes the 18" rims and sport seats. I didn't really like the 18" rims that came with the package so I didn't order it. I'd rather spend the 2 grand on some aftermarket rims, or some other BMW rims and keep the factory 17" for the winter.
