For sale is a set of Borbet Type A rims. These rims are very rare, and I (with a ton of research) have only seen 5 sets in 17's. The caps are included and I have the screws, but the previous owner did not have the key.

The Good
- 17x8.5, et 13 and 17x10, et 20
- fairly clean, caps included with screws
- tires included with about 90% tread left (although the wheels have dried a bit)
- very rare, very euro
- all rims hold air

The bad
- one back rims has some curb rash
- one tire is different than the others (one BF Goodrich the others sumitomo)
- I am missing the key
- clear coat on the front rims are cracking a bit (in pictures)

Well judge for yourselves, onto the pictures.

Price is 2300 rims and tires included. Throw me some offers.

By the way, I know that you can buy these rims in a 16 inch new. But you CANNOT buy them in 17's new. I have looked all over.

Thanks,

Hootie

The curbage isnt too bad at all, and can be easily fixed to either be polished or repainted.

Not at all. The other 3 tires are near perfect. If you want to polish the rims, the clear coat doesnt matter. So there is your cracking problem, and all you need to do is sand/polish the rear rim. If you want to paint them you need to sand them anyway, then paint them (clear coat problem is gone). The rear needs to be bondoed.

would these fit my e36?? if i roll the fenders.. or do i need some serious work?

hootie

Should fit with slight rolling of the fenders and some stretched tires. also depends on your drop.

where did you get those wheels? hahahahah:D weirdest question

these will fit E30 M3's too... what's the centre bore?

hootie
04-24-2008, 04:53 PM
Wheels and tires were bought from a local private seller.

These should fit E30 M3's, the center bore is 5 x 120, which all BMW's run. But the rear fender may need to be rolled to fit the 10 inch rear tire. also depends on your suspension set up.

The center bore is the size of the hole at the hub, not the lugs sizing. That's important, as it may not fit M3 if the bore is wrong, or you may need hub centric rings.

Also, I'm pretty sure you don't use bondo on a rim to repair it.... ??

:D

These should fit E30's I have seen pictures of them posted up. I am not sure of the center bore. Oh and about the bondo, it was just a suggestion from someone. I have never personally done it, but the rim with the curb rash needs to be sanded down and filled in with an epoxy of some sort.

trade for oem staggered m-pars without tires plus cash?

hootie
04-27-2008, 08:36 PM
I would consider trading for either a clean E30/E28 plus cash on my end, and once I get the car I will consider trades for other parts. But for now either cash or car.

Thanks though

There are tons of clean e30's in Vancouver, rust free. You're looking at 4-5k

hahahah as much as that made me laugh, I was willing to trade plus cash on my end. I don't expect a straight trade at all. And actually I found a clean E30 in VT with no rust for 700, problem was I am in chicago now. Also I found a rust free one for around 3000. So they are out there, you just have to be on the watch.

BUMP.

Nice wheels. How much would it cost to restore them to new condition?

hootie
06-09-2008, 01:36 PM
Umm not sure. If these don't sell in 4-5 days (before I get back to Boston) I will refinish them myself and resell them or throw them on another car.

It really depends if you do it yourself or not. If you do it yourself then it will be tons of man hours on your hands. Otherwise be prepared to pay from a reputable rim shop.
