I don't know if it's because of LED tails whenever I turn off my headlights then my trunk pops up..

I didn't press any trunk release button and my key was inserted.

Do you have any idea why my acts like this??

Let me know thanks

Check the trunk grip strip ( the handle to manually open the trunk) removed the covers for the licence plate light bulbs and check for corosion or moisture. thats usually the case seen it many times on x5's and e46's, i dont know what car u have but its worth to check*th-up* if thats ur problem you need a new Grip strip*smoke*

That's a common problem for E46s. Water and salt gets into the grip strip eventually corroding the circuits in there causing licence plate lights fail etc..

Keep the headlights on...hahahahaahahahha

ok, lets get back on topic and try to help the guy.

Did you try taking the LED's out to see if the problem is still there?

finally get back on topic lol Thanks guys!!

yeah I will try to take LED's out first and see. A guy from e46fanatics asked me to unplug battery and reset my car.. I will try that as well.

I guess my trip to Niagara 2 days ago was a problem I guess, tons of salt and snow..ah..

update#########################3

No sign of salt or snow in the trunk release button.

I just checked my headlights.. passenger side xenon is gone.. either bulb or ballast

I also took out Led tails and still my trunk pops up whenever I turn my headlights..

so.. do you think I can fix this by changing either ballast or HID bulb?

Funny thing is there is no error sign on the dash so I didn't even know my front headlights are working properly..

LOLLLLLLLLL AHAHAHA....o man dude im sorry but thats hilarious....i can just imagine. On a more serious note, check the wiring to the tail lights and plate lights...I'm not sure about your car but E36's have a common problem of wires gettin rubbed together and shorting out over time.

man.. this is getting crazy...

trunk problem was gone yesterday.. no more pop up.

I parked my car few hours and my car doesn't start!! I hear tic tic noise and totally died!

Not even a single bulb I can turn on.

I disconnect the battery and reconnected it. Everything works fine but trunk problem came back!!

What should I do???
