hey guys,
i need some help. i was just wondering if a 318 manual tranny will bolt on to a 328 engine? both parts are from E36 going into an E36 as well

if it doens't, is there alot involved to make it work?

Yes it does.

I don't remeber for 100% but you will need also the following parts from the 318/325 as well:

1) shifter linkage
2) the driveshaft
3) I think the tranny brace with mounts also has to be the 318 one

It will bolt up but the gear ratio's are different it will have more tourque but you will loose top end speed. As kirasir said you will need the shifter linkage. You will only need the drivshaft if on the car that this is going into was originally a 318.

You are somethat right, the 318/325/328 transmissions are very slightly different. It is the differential that has as MUCH higher/lower ratio between 4 and 6 cyl...Its all in the final gear ratio...
