Question about Coil-Overs

How exactly to do you adjust the suspension? Im guessing its not like on those low riders with swiches in the center console lol.

See the black ring? That's the coil mount. It's threaded, and you turn it left or right, to adjust the height of the coil mount point. That adjusts how high or low your car is. You have to jack the car up so it doesn't have the weight of the car pushing down on the mount. You can literally adjust the whole car in your driveway in 30 mins.

I was going to get TCKline's Single Adjustables as it would be my ideal setup for autocrossing and tracking; you can select your spring rate and they will valve the shock properly, but I realized this is my daily driver and I had to make some sacrifices on getting a setup that's more comfortable for daily driving, hence I ended up with the PSS10, otherwise TCKline's for sure.

Pick fights? no not at all, you asked a question, i answered it with a fact.....if you can't handle that, you shouldn't be asking.

I asked how you adjust the suspension, you didn't answer anything, just made a smart ass comment.

Thats like someone asking me how they get to Detroit and I reply "well you put the key in the ignition".

Dont try to play it off as something else, ur not smart enough to fool anyone and don't try to ruin this thread.

It's the difference of a properly set up suspension and "I'm just doing this for looks". When you lower your car with springs but keep the stock shocks in, the shocks are now constantly compressed past what they're supposed to be operating at. They're not designed for it, hence they don't function properly. It's not gonna blow the car up, but you're sacrificing handling.

ever seen on of those hondas or toyotas where the wheel camber is so crocked you think its falling of any minute? and when they hit a bump in the road they are still bouncing at the next traffic light? thats what short springs on original shocks or even worse, cut original springs do for you. goes well with 21 inch spinners in the rear and 15 inch black steelies in the front. its really pimp YO. add a wing that extends way past the car in every direction and you are good to go

after taxes it was like $2200. What's PSS9R? I checked the bilstein website I don't think they make it for M5.

Didn't order the euro headlights yet. Will soon though.

what's the difference?

Quack
03-06-2008, 12:24 AM
well the fender liners are different on the M5 compared with the othe E39 models, that's why the M5 can install wider tires than other E39's, you can even have 265 wide tires on the front.
