hey guys,

i wrecked the plastic bars from my cluster today that have the check engine / parking brake writing on it. does anyone have a cluster in parts that I could grab just those plastic inserts?

preferably one that has anti-lock on it.

Brian from the club has one (and I gave him a shifter knob a little while ago) so we'll pull it from his parts car.. But if it falls through I'll come knocking.

Where's that CD Dave?

I've got one in parts sitting in the garage.

Like, its already taken apart? How much would you want for the inserts? It would save me ripping apart Brian's.

yeah, I used it for the tach and odometer gears. the rest of it is still there. I don't remember if it has ABS or not though, I'd have to check. I could let it go for \$200:) j/k it's yours free, it otherwise would have gone in the trash.

Sounds good. If I may ask, how did that break on yours?

Well, I saw a dood on e30tech who tinted his. It turned out great. I've tinted many things with nite shades spray, so while it is apart to better mount the stainless rings, I'll pulled the inserts out and tinted them.

I guess the solvent in the nite shades is different than what the other guy used, because it actually ate the finish on the front and the lettering ran. Now it kind of looks like a motion blur effect in photoshop. Oops.

interesting, I've never heard of tinting those. You have a link just for curiosity's sake?

Jay do you need the front plastic cover from the cluster? If not would you mind parting with it? My current one is scratched to shit. Thanks

edit: found the tint job. It looks pretty good minus th cf

Nope, I don't need it, but I will take your scratched one to experiment with then ok? I'm going to see what tinting the whole unit looks like.

Blacked out dash FTW.

Yeah that works for me....I'm off anyway. I HATE Mcguinty with a passion, but I do appreciate Family day!:D

Sounds good to me! I think this family is ****ing stupid. Now I don't get the Civic holiday off.. its not statutory, just declared, so most places are revoking that day instead. Now what would I rather have: a day in the middle of ****ing winter, or the only day in August?!? STUPID voters that fell for a stupid tactic from a stupid government.

^^ That sucks. Luckily I still get the civic as well.

I agree though...The people who voted that lying crook back in are morons!

So what time on Monday?

Nascar318is

I love this holiday, cause I get to work while everything is shut anyway, so no traffic in the morning.. And we get to take this day off when ever we want in the year, so when it's 35 out and I'm on a patio for my "Family Day" I'll appriciate it more:)

Good. Just wanted to make sure it wasn't during the day. I'm not sure if I have the Monday off from work. Not a big issue, since I could always take 5 minutes off work to go there. It's literally 5 minutes away from me. :)

We did meet up. I did have the front plastic cluster piece for you, but it was very badly scratched. I was trying my best to polish it (for about 15 mins) to get it usable for you.. and..

I broke it. I feel like a dick. I'd offer you help polish the scratches out of your but I have an 0-1 track record with it.

Good trip though?
