View Full Version : Thinking about an e30

Hey everyone,

I was thinking about getting another e30, This one happens to be a 1990 318i, I'm mainly using it to get to work, then save up some cash and get myself a nice 325is again or do a swap and save on insurance.

Anyways I was thinking. The guy only wants $400 for the car, from what I've read on m42club, I have to replace some vacuum lines and other small things, other than that its set. But the car seems to have a brake line leak some where. First off I would like to know if anyone would know how much it would cost to repair or replace some brake lines. If it ends up being too much I was thinking I could just part out the car.

I was wondering if any of you guys would need parts off it. It is mainly rust free no holes just surface rust but rust is rust, has plastic bumpers, seats are cheap cloth( more or less trash) I dont know if there are many people on this forum with m42s. But anyways yeah, just putting the idea out there...

I'll take the plastic bumpers and valence, post some pics and I'm sure that parts will be spoken for quick depending on what 'mainly rust free' means.
But replacing brake lines can be a bitch, but with some help you will save a lot of money doing it yourself(and vaccuum lines).
