hmmmm worth doing to an e30?

i just thought of something
im sure 318s cost less than 325s, on insurance too i'd bet (i dunno)

if i were to get me an e30 that happens to be 318, i should be able to put in the m20b25 motor no problem...right? simple swap no?
would the tranny have to change too? (tranny attached to the 1.8L motor)

if this is a cheaper way for me to get another e30 than i might just do so, of course as long as its in good shape.

...of course assuming its done @ home. i still have the 325 shit from the motor all the way to the diff. i still have my broken e30 haha

If you still have your whole old 325i kicking around, yes its an easy swap. Since the motor is going to be out, do some freshening up like a Timing belt/water pump if you haven't already. You'd need everything from the 325 (tranny, wiring, etc...)

Its a good way of learning about your car too. Remember not to tell the insurance you're doing all this or else they prolly will jack your rates for having an 'engine swap' lol

Safety, register and insure the car first as 318 and then do the swap.

i never thought about changing water pump/timing belt, thanks for that heads up idea craz azn!

and that seems like a more secure way of not letting insurance know...buy doing the legal bizz first than do the swap!

and i'd love to throw in a vanos motor!!!!! but of course im on my student budget, even during the 4 months off school...i will always be in student budget mode. UNLESS i win the super 7 >:)
